Stocks Close Higher Monday, Ending Losing Streak

Wall Street stocks rose on Monday, recovering after a four day losing streak that  saw a September filled with big losses for all three major indexes.

At the end of trading, the S&P 500 rose by 0.4% to 4,337.44. The Dow Jones Industrial Average inched up by 0.13% to 34,006.88, while the Nasdaq Composite added 0.45% to close at 13,271.32.

September saw stocks struggle as the Federal Reserve anticipated higher interest rates for longer, raising bond yields.

Investors are now gearing up for new PCE inflation data due Friday for more information about the Fed’s interest rate path.
