Los Angeles—Congresswoman Janice Hahn, candidate for Los Angeles County Supervisor, met with local Chinese media on October 24, outlining her visions for education and public safety which appeals to the Chinese community, and urging voters to turn out on Election Day.
“I am excited to run for the LA County Board of Supervisors. While I am proud of my bipartisan accomplishments in Washington D.C., it’s time for me to come home and fight for the vibrant and diverse communities here in Los Angeles,” said Hahn.
“As a former teacher, I know the impact a good education can have on a child’s future. Over the years, I’ve fought to support our classroom teachers and increase funding for K-12 and higher education. As your County Supervisor, I will make it a priority to expand educational opportunities so that every child receives a world-class education and has the tools they need to succeed.”
“Throughout my career, protecting our children and keeping our local neighborhoods safe has always been one of my top priorities. On the Board of Supervisors, I will work hard to improve neighborhood security by expanding community based policing and passing common sense gun laws. Specifically, I will support a ban on military style assault weapons and fight to ensure individuals on the terrorist watch list cannot purchase guns.”
Hahn currently serves as a member of U.S. House of Representative representing the 44th district of California.
