Run for a Cause: Join the 2024 Irvine Animal Care Center Virtual 5K

Run or walk the Virtual 5K in April and receive an exclusive medal while helping adoptable animals.

IRVINE, Calif. (March 22, 2024): Animal lovers, runners, and walkers are invited to participate in the 2024 Irvine Animal Care Center Virtual 5K. Throughout the month of April, participants can make a difference in the lives of animals in need by finishing the Virtual 5K — completed at a self-timed pace and at any location. Registration opens March 26.

Participate solo or gather friends and family for a fun community event. Complete the 5K distance anytime, April 1–30. Whether it’s a jog around the neighborhood, a treadmill session, or an adventurous hike, every mile counts toward supporting the health and well-being of animals in the center’s care.

To enter, participants must submit an entry fee of $35 at irvineanimals.org/5k and complete the 5K by April 30. Racers who complete the Virtual 5K will receive an exclusive medal and certificate. Furry companions eager to join the fun can participate in the Virtual 5K alongside their humans for an additional $8 and will receive their very own medal.

All proceeds go toward special programs at the Irvine Animal Care Center, which provides sheltering, care, and enrichment for homeless, neglected, abused, or unwanted animals. Services include licensing for Irvine residents, pet adoptions, and events.

Visit irvineanimals.org/5k for more information and to submit your entry fee. For questions, call the Irvine Animal Care Center at 949-724-7740.
