IRVINE- Mayor Farrah N. Khan, City of Irvine, hosted California Department of Insurance (CDI) Commissioner Ricardo Lara for a virtual Wildfire Insurance Town Hall. This was an opportunity for Irvine/OC residents to hear from experts about emergency preparedness and about how California is addressing the homeowner insurance crisis. Special guests included Irvine Police Department (IPD) Chief Michael Kent, IPD and Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) Chief Nick Freeman.
“I’ve heard from our communities about their concerns regarding wildfire insurance in our areas,” said Mayor Farrah N. Khan. “Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara and the California Department of Insurance (CDI) are great resources for our OC residents. We appreciate Commissioner Ricardo Lara sharing invaluable information on upcoming insurance reforms that will better support the community.”
