Stocks finished lower while yields climbed on Tuesday as Wall Street awaits the Federal Reserve’s interest rate decision, which is set to be released Wednesday.
The decision is expected to leave interest rates unchanged.
Investors are paying close attention to the economic projections summary and the Federal Reserve chair’s press conference as they weigh the future of the fight against inflation.
The S&P 500 slipped 0.22% to 4,443.95. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 0.3% to 34,517.73, while the Nasdaq Composite fell 0.2% to 13,678.19.
