City of Irvine Partners with Covid Clinic to Provide COVID-19 Testing at City Facilities

Free testing available at community centers; expanded hours coming soon.

IRVINE, Calif. (August 4, 2021): The City of Irvine is proud to announce a new partnership with operator Covid Clinic to provide free COVID-19 testing for eligible individuals at multiple City facilities. Previous City of Irvine testing sites operated by 360 Clinic will now be operated by Covid Clinic, which aims to provide testing centers that are easily accessible to all.

Covid Clinic testing sites are available at Irvine Civic Center, Las Lomas Community Center, Quail Hill Community Park, Great Park, and Trabuco Center. Service hours are being expanded in the near future, and current hours and appointments are available at cityofirvine.org/covidclinic.

“We have come far in our fight against the spread of COVID-19 in our community, and it’s important to remain vigilant for the health and safety of ourselves, our residents, and our neighbors,” said Irvine Mayor Farrah N. Khan. “This partnership expands the availability of critical testing opportunities, providing the public easy and convenient ways to get tested at nearby neighborhood locations.”

Preregistration online at cityofirvine.org/covidclinic is recommended and offered on-site for those needing assistance; walk-ins are welcome as availability permits. Patients must bring a form of ID, and a copy of test results will be sent to the email and phone number provided on the consent form within one to two days. Testing is free when medically necessary, including when symptoms of COVID-19 are present, recent exposure is suspected or confirmed, and when individuals who have recently tested positive for COVID-19 are being retested to confirm the virus is gone.

Covid Clinic testing sites also offer the opportunity for rapid testing and testing that meets requirements for travel. Standard travel testing with a one- to two-day turnaround is $150, with the option for a one-hour expedited test for $299. Covid Clinic also plans to add vaccination opportunities to its existing Irvine sites in the near future.

“Testing is still the best way to help slow the spread of the virus,” says Dr. Matthew Abinante, president and co-founder of Covid Clinic. “Even if you’ve been vaccinated, you can still contract and spread COVID-19 and it’s variants to others.”
