Additional 2021 California Distinguished Schools Include
Twenty-Two Los Angeles Unified High Schools
LOS ANGELES (April 28, 2021) – An expanded list of California Distinguished Schools includes 22 high schools in Los Angeles Unified, State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond has announced.
The schools are among an additional 121 secondary schools in the state being honored for having outstanding education programs and practices, closing the achievement gap and for achieving exceptional student performance all around.
“I am delighted to see the state recognize the progress being made at so many of our schools where extraordinary things are happening,” Superintendent Austin Beutner said. “We are grateful for the hard work of the administrators, educators and staff for helping our students get a great education.”

Schmerelson said. “I would particularly like to extend kudos to the students, families, and staff of Grover Cleveland Charter High School, in Board District 3, for their efforts. Bravo!”
