Los Angeles — Mayor Garcetti today held a private meeting with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of the Republic of Armenia. The two discussed the strong ties, business connections and mutual admiration between Los Angeles and the Republic of Armenia. The meeting took place in the Mayor’s Office in Los Angeles City Hall prior to a welcome celebration and concert in Grand Park in honor of the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister was welcomed to Los Angeles by Mayor Garcetti, Rep. Adam Schiff, Lt. Governor Eleni Kounalakis, County Supervisors Kathryn Barger and Hilda Solis, Councilmember Paul Krekorian and members of the Los Angeles Armenian community. The greater Los Angeles area is currently home to the largest population of Armenians in the world outside of Armenia.
Prime Minister Pashinyan is visiting Los Angeles for the first time on Sunday on his way to address the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
