South El Monte — Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) Special Weapons Team has responded to the 9600 block of El Poche Street, South El Monte, to assist Temple Station deputies regarding a barricaded suspect who is armed with a knife.
SEB deputies have assumed command of the tactical response and Crisis Negotiation Team personnel are responding to bring the situation to a peaceful resolution.
Surrounding homes have been evacuated for the safety of the residents.
A representative from Sheriff’s Information Bureau will be on scene for media inquiries.
