Los Angeles- On Tuesday, November 1, at 9:20 a.m., the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) community will join the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in observing a brief moment of silence in the terminals at LAX in recognition of TSA Officer Gerardo I. Hernandez, who was killed in the line of duty on November 1, 2013.
“Transportation Security Administration officers play an enormous role in ensuring the safety of the traveling public at airports across the United States, including here at LAX,” said Los Angeles World Airports Chief Executive Officer Deborah Flint. “We join with the TSA in paying tribute to Officer Hernandez for the work he performed so admirably here at LAX, and thank the scores of TSA officers who provide security at our nation’s airports. We also extend our appreciation to the officers of the Los Angeles Airport Police, who work diligently to make LAX safe.”
