Irvine Husband and Wife Parolees Arrested on Drug and Counterfeiting Charges

Irvine, CA (Irvine Police Department)– The Irvine Police Department (IPD) has arrested married parolees for drug and counterfeit currency-related charges. The suspects are identified as Christopher Shopshire, age 26, and Stacie Shopshire, age 25, both of Irvine. They were arrested for a parole violation and on charges of possession of equipment to manufacture counterfeit bills, possession of counterfeit bills, possession of fraudulent checks, and various drug offenses.

The suspects in this case are on parole for crimes related to drugs, robbery, burglary, and fraud. A condition of their parole is that they are not to associate with one another, as they are known to commit crimes together.

Shortly after 11:00 a.m. on March 30, 2016, the suspects were contacted together in a vehicle stop by IPD for being in violation of their parole.  In the suspects’ vehicle, officers located numerous counterfeit $100 bills.

IPD subsequently searched an Irvine home and Orange motel room associated with Christopher and Stacie Shopshire. In the home, the suspects were found to be in possession of methamphetamine, heroin, prescription pills, fake checks, and equipment for the manufacturing of counterfeit bills. In the motel, the suspects were in possession of additional counterfeit currency and a knife and baton in violation of their parole.
