Beverly Hills Conference & Visitors Bureau (BHCVB) hosts its fifth annual Chinese New Year at the Saban Theatre Jan 31st . Live acrobatic show and musical performances attracts nearly 2000 people to this sold-out event.

“This is the second year for BHCVB to partner with China International Culture Association (CICA) and Beijing Association for Cultural Exchanges (BACE) in celebration of Chinese New Year in Beverly Hills. New Year celebration has become a friendship bridge between Beverly Hills and Beijing, and between American and Chinese people,” says Julian Gold, Mayor of Beverly Hills.

“Last year’s event was a great success. With the blessing of Beverly Hills, Beijing won the bid for the 2022 Winter Olympics. The government of Beijing wishes to continue cultural exchanges with BHCVB on an annual basis,” says Wang Hui, Secretary General of BACE.
The audience is deeply moved by the wonderful performances of more than 50 artists from China National Acrobatic Troupe and Beijing Opera & Arts College.
“Thanks to Julie Wagner, Chief Executive Officer, Mary De Hoyos, Sr. Director of Business Development and the highly motivated staff of BHCVB, we have had another successful this year,” Jennifer Liu, a contractor for BHCVB, is quoted as saying.
Attendees also include Ambassador Liu Jian, Consul General of China in Los Angeles, John Mirisch, Vice Mayor of Beverly Hills, Mahdi Aluzri, City Manager of Beverly Hills, Mary Su, Mayor Pro Tem of Walnut, Stephen Sham, Councilmember of Alhambra, Allen Wu, board member of Walnut Valley Water District, and local Chinese community leaders.
