Caltrans Road Construction & Improvement Projects Taking Place March 7–11 near Irvine

In addition to the projects listed below that may impact your commute, you can find information on work being done to enhance our City on the Capital Improvement Projects Map and the Road Construction Map.

IRVINE- Caltrans will close the connector from the northbound I-5 Freeway to the northbound I-405 Freeway for 57 hours beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, March 8, until 5 a.m. Monday, March 11, weather permitting.

The closure is part of a construction project to rehabilitate pavement on various connectors throughout Orange County. Detour signage will be in place to assist motorists.

Please adhere to all posted signs and traffic instructions for the safety of all workers and motorists. Electronic changeable message signs will notify drivers of the closures.

Pavement Rehabilitation and Slurry Seal Weekend Work

As part of the City’s Pavement Rehabilitation and Slurry Seal program, work will be done on the following streets Saturday, March 9, and Sunday, March 10, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.

  • Culver Drive from Irvine Center Drive to Walnut
  • Irvine Center Drive from Harvard to Culver

Planned Traffic Signal Shutdown

Work will be done on the traffic signal at the intersection of Alton Parkway and Morgan Thursday, March 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Every effort will be made to keep traffic flowing and minimize disruptions, but delays should be expected. Please use alternate routes when possible.
