The Chinese Consulate General Hosts a Reception Marking the 45th Anniversary of the Diplomatic Ties Between China and the United States

The Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Los Angeles hosted a grand reception today in Universal City in celebration of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and the United States.
Over 400 elected officials, community and business leaders attended the event, including Congresswoman Judy Chu, State Senator Josh Newman, State Assemblyman Mike Fong, San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria, Kern County Supervisor Leticia Perez, San Bernardino County Supervisor Jesse Armendarez.
“The China-U.S. relationship is the most important bilateral relationship in the world. Adherence to the three principles of mutual respect, peaceful co-existence and win-win cooperation put forward by President Xi Jinping is the right way for the two countries to get along,” said Ambassador Guo Shaochun, the Chinese Consul General in Los Angeles.
Ambassador Guo expressed the willingness of the Consulate General to work with all walks of life in the consular area towards a stable, sound and sustainable China-U.S. relationship.
Guest speakers all stressed the significance of the U.S.-China relations for the economy of California and the United States as a whole, and expected to see more exchanges between the two countries and the two peoples.
Among attendees were Santa Monica Mayor Phil Brock, former Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael Antonovich, former State Senate Majority Leader Robert Hertzberg, San Gabriel City Councilmember Tony Ding, Arcadia City Councilmember Eileen Wang, Sino-American Aviation Heritage Foundation Chairman Jeffrey Greene, the Flying Tigers veteran Mel McMullen, US China Friendship Association President Simon Pang, National Rongxiang Xu Foundation Chairwoman Dr. Li Li, Los Angeles County Chief of Protocol Lourdes Saab, Director of International Relations, Policy & Protocol in the Los Angeles Mayor’s Office of Los Angeles Wajenda Chambeshi.
