IRVINE, Calif. (December 7, 2023): Irvine Mayor Farrah N. Khan, City of Irvine, hosted Small Business Administration (SBA) Deputy Administrator Dilawar Syed for a Small Business Town Hall this morning at Irvine Civic Center. This was an opportunity for Irvine/OC business leaders and entrepreneurs to hear about programs, resources, and support from the Small Business Administration and the impact of small businesses’ success on our regional economy.
“The backbone of our Orange County economy is the success of our small businesses,” said Mayor Farrah N. Khan. “Deputy Administrator Dilawar Syed and the Small Business Administration are great partners in this success. We appreciate Deputy Administrator Syed sharing invaluable information and resources for our local business community today.”
SBA Deputy Administrator Dilawar Syed shared his thoughts on the visit below.
“With $1.2 billion in SBA-backed lending last year, SBA is powering small businesses in Orange County and Irvine. We’re building on this momentum to expand our outreach to local entrepreneurs and innovators in diverse communities,” said SBA Deputy Administrator Dilawar Syed.
“This is my second visit to Irvine this year and we’re grateful for our ongoing collaboration with Mayor Khan and SBA resource partners.”
