Early Education: Supervisor Andrew Do & First 5 Orange County Host Free Community Resource Fair for Parents & Caregivers

November 29, 2023 – Orange County Supervisor Andrew Do is partnering with First 5 Orange County to host a free Kid Builders Community Resource Fair at the Oak View Family Resource Center in Huntington Beach on December 2.

At the event, children up to age five will receive free bubbles and beach balls as they participate in Kid Builder activities, which are designed to help children build skills to meet their developmental milestones.

“As a parent, we know social and emotional development are just as important as physical and academic skills,” said Supervisor Andrew Do. “First 5 Orange County is a great resource for parents to identify early learning activities that can help their child reach their full potential.”

While the kids are having fun, parents can learn more about resources and services that support their child’s growth and development. Kid Builders are engaging and fun activities that build children’s skills in six key developmental areas: mind, words, body, relationships, safety, and health.

Family support and early childhood development are key factors in ensuring children are ready for kindergarten. According to the most recent report on the Conditions of Children in Orange County, nearly half of young kids are not ready for kindergarten. Just 52.5% of children were developmentally ready for kindergarten in 2022.
