New York- Wall Street stocks inched back up on Tuesday following the latest release of earnings reports from major companies that were higher than expected.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.62% to 33,141.38.
The S&P 500 climbed 0.73% to close at 4,247.68 while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite added 0.93% to finish the session at 13,139.87.
About 150 companies in the S&P 500 are slated to report earnings this week with a majority of the 23% companies that have already reported earnings posting results surpassing expectations.
The 10-year Treasury yield edged higher to 4.84% after an earlier slide in the morning after climbing above a record 5% on Monday.
High yields have dragged the stock market since the summer as investors continue to weigh the future of interest rates.
