Rosemead, Calif. – On Thursday, June 22, over 150 attendees gathered at the University of the West in Rosemead, Calif., for the fourth annual Supplier Diversity Conference, organized by Pacific Asian Consortium in Employment (PACE), Los Angeles MBDA (Minority Business Development Agency) Business Center and GO- Biz (The Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development)

This conference aimed to provide valuable insights and strategies for small businesses seeking contract opportunities in the public and private sectors, ultimately facilitating their growth and success. PACE’s commitment to assisting local communities in Greater Los Angeles with access to capital was further extended through this event.

Kerry Doi, President and CEO of PACE expressed his pride in hosting the conference and commended the dedicated efforts of PACE, MBDA, and GO-Biz staff members in supporting small business owners. Julie Clowes, District Director at the Small Business Administration (SBA) Los Angeles District Office, shared insights into the SBA’s unwavering commitment to assisting small businesses in the procurement arena. She highlighted various programs offered by the SBA that are specifically designed to support small businesses in securing contracts.

Kelly LoBianco, Director of the LA County Department of Economic Opportunity, delivered a keynote speech shedding light on the county’s substantial procurement budget. She emphasized that an impressive amount of US $4 billion is allocated annually for procurement, presenting a tremendous opportunity for small businesses.
