Celebrate National Park and Recreation Month at Irvine Play Day July 28

Drop in at Adventure Playground, Great Park, or Lakeview Senior Center for treats and fun.

IRVINE, Calif. (July 20, 2022): The City of Irvine is hosting Irvine Play Day on Thursday, July 28, to celebrate National Park and Recreation Month at Adventure Playground, Great Park, and Lakeview Senior Center. Residents are invited to drop in between 3 and 6 p.m. for games, treats, and giveaway items to celebrate Irvine’s top‑rated parks and centers.

National Park and Recreation Month started in 1985 as an initiative of the National Park and Recreation Association, with the goal of raising awareness of the essential services provided by parks and recreation opportunities in communities across the country. July is also recognized at the state level by the California Park and Recreation Society as Parks Make Life Better Month.

No registration is necessary for Irvine Play Day, and all ages are welcome. All sites will have music, games, refreshments, and giveaway items. Activities will vary at each location:
