Asian  Youth  Center  Raised More  Than  $175.000 At 32nd Anniversary  GALA To Support At-Risk Youth

San Gabriel, Calif. – Over 300 guests  attended the Asian Youth Center (AYC) 32nd Anniversary Celebration and Awards Ceremony on Friday, October 22 that  raised more than$175,000 to support at-risk youth in the San Gabriel Valley and throughout Los Angeles County.

AYC, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering low-income, immigrant and at-risk youth and families to overcome barriers to success through culturally and linguistically competent education, employment, and social services, celebrates 32 years of community service by hosting a gala reception on the outdoor rooftop Garden Terrace at the Hilton Los Angeles/ San Gabriel. Themed “Harvest Harmony,” the sold out event highlights AYC’s initiatives that cultivate youth-led social justice.

This year’s honorees include the following:

Pacific Plaza Premier Development Group will be receiving the Corporate Partnership Award fortheir active support of Ayc during the early months of the pandemic and stay-at-home order Pacific Plaza Premier supported AYC’s Emergency Food Program and mobilized friends and colleagues during AYC’s Spring Campaign, helping the organization raise more than $100,000 over three months to expand and meet the unprecedented needs of the Emergency Food Program due to the sudden surge of individuals and families experiencing food insecurity in the San Gabriel Valley.

Dr.Barbara Ferrer,Director of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, will be
receiving the Community Leadership Award for her outstanding and steadfast leadership guiding Los Angeles through the COVID-19 pandemic and dedication to the health and well-being of the communities AYC serves during the pandemic.

Asian Pacific Policy and Planning Council (A3PCON) will be receiving the Community
Partnership Award for its national leadership on the Stop AAPI Hate initiative and raising awareness about the recent increase in hate incidents and violence against Asian Americans, and ad vocating for resources to address anti-Asian hate.

Ted Chen,General Assignment Reporter for NBC4, will be receiving the President’s Recognition. Award for his longtime support and service on the AYC Community Advisory Board for the last20 years and positive impact and contributions to the Asian and Pacific Islander American community.
