Franklin Foundation Donates Personal Protective Equipment to Law Enforcement Officers

San Bernardino, CA—As the coronavirus pandemic sweeps the United States, face masks, gowns and other PPE are in short supply across the nation.

Franklin Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising the awareness of autism, and helping kids with autism, today donated a batch of supplies to San Bernardino City Center Police Department, including N95 respirators, medical grade face masks, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant wipes.

“Kids with autism are part of the society, not the burden of the society,” said Franklin Qu, Xiaohui Ma, Kevin Shi, Tony Nakayam, and Matthew Li, who delivered the supplies on behalf of Franklin Foundation.  “We would like to excise our civic duties, and step up at this critical moment helping people on the front lines against COVID-19.”

It is touching to learn that part of the donations was purchased with the piggy bank money these kids received and collected over the years.

The month of April is the World Autism Awareness month set by the United Nations.  Over the last ten years, Franklin Foundation has been hosting autism kids concert during April to commemorate the event.

Unfortunately the concert could not be held this year as scheduled due to the COVID-19.  However, the pandemic could not stop this group of kids from serving the people in need and the community they love.

According to Franklin Foundation, they plan to make another donation to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center, where some COVID-19 patients are being treated.
