El Monte — Dec. 18th , People crowded in El Monte City Hall for the first hearing of its opening Marijuana Business Projects.
The City is considering a proposal to build a medical marijuana growing and distribution facility proposed on the El Monte-Temple City border.
Priscilla Segura, a spokesperson for the city’s public relations, said that it is the first public hearing on whether the city should pass the cannabis industry project. But the City Council will only listen to residents’ reactions on the 18th hearing and will not make any decisions.
Nearly 500 people crowded into the city hall ,and attended the hearing , and nearly 200 people submitted their applications to speak .
