Guizhou Provincial Leader Promotes China’s Big Data Pilot Zone at Silicon Beach

Santa Monica, CA–a business delegation from Guizhou, China, led by Ma Ningyu, deputy secretary general of the provincial government and director of Guizhou Big Data Bureau, met with local business leaders on March 8 in Santa Monica, center of Silicon Beach, to promote China’s first big data pilot zone.

In a symposium held at Viceroy Santa Monica, Ma introduced the latest development of National Big Data Pilot Zone (Guizhou), and presented the policy incentives and prime investment environment of Guizhou, a southwest province in China.

Ma invited American entrepreneurs to do business in the pilot zone.  Shang Kaiying, director of Guizhou Communications Administration, also expressed welcome to American business partners.

Fu Yu, president of Guizhou-Cloud Big Data Industry Co. Ltd (GCBD), told reporters that his company has developed a stable and reliable cloud computing system to provide data storage, sharing and application services to provincial level governments.

According to Fu, GCBD is actively pursuing international partnerships, and intends to set up a branch in America.

GCBD was founded to promote the region as China’s data center hub.

Charles Liu, co-founder and chief structural engineer of PE Chain, expressed his support for China’s big data strategy, and pledged partnership with the big data pilot zone utilizing his company’s advantages in digital asset and blockchain management.

“Big data, as new information technology, represents the direction of intelligence industry,” said Dr. Xiang Lingyun, president of Guizhou Intelligence Industry Group, Guizhou Investment Management Co. Ltd, Great Catering Group, and Element Catering Group (USA).

“Big data development and application is of strategic significance for industry restructuring, industrialization and urbanization of Guizhou Province,” Dr. Xiang added.

With 23 business groups, 28 research institutions, 13 industrial parks, and 238 companies, Guizhou Intelligence Industry Group committed its cooperation with the big data pilot zone.
