UPDATE-Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti has declared a local State of Emergency in response to the Skirball Fire on December 6th, which has burned at least 125 acres in Bel Air near the Sepulveda Pass.
The Emergency Declaration the Mayor signed yesterday in response to the Creek Fire is still in effect, as that fire continues to burn and threaten property.
Both Emergency Declarations direct relevant City departments to take all necessary steps to protect life and property in the area affected by the fires. This declarations also request that state and federal assistance be provided to the City quickly.
LOS ANGELES — Mayor Eric Garcetti has declared a local State of Emergency in response to the Creek Fire, which has burned more than 11,000 acres in the Sylmar area, and continues to threaten structures.
The Emergency Declaration directs relevant City departments to take all necessary steps to protect life and property in the area affected by the fire. This declaration also requests that the Governor declare an emergency, so that state and federal assistance can be provided to the City quickly.
