Los Angeles—Silk Road American Forum will be held in Los Angeles on November 2-4. The organizing committee made this announcement in a press conference at J.W. Marriott in downtown Los Angeles.
The three-day forum, hosted by KJC International, a consulting firm in San Dimas, in partnership with the Port of Los Angeles, seeks to generate new ideas to extend the maritime Silk Road across the Pacific, which can be dated back several centuries, and promote economic, trade and cultural exchanges in the Pacific rim.
The forum held in the wake of the successful Belt and Road Summit Forum on International Cooperation in May in Beijing catches the attention of policymakers, business professional and the academic community. According to Jim MacLellan, Director of Trade Development, and Jennifer Liu, CEO of KJC, more than 300 trade representatives, business leaders and academics from China, the United States and Latin America will participate in the upcoming forum.
This forum will “foster friendship, promote business, investment, trade and cultural exchanges between China and the continental Americas”, said Mr. Enrique Arthuro de Obarrio, former ambassador of Panama to the Organization of American States, and Chairman of Nihao LatAm Group. “Panama is being seen as the logical and natural platform for China to carry out the One Belt One Road initiative to the rest of the inter-American region, including of course the Caribbean.
Ambassador de Obarrio announced that Silk Road American Forum 2018 will be held in Panama City, Panama.
MEBO International, Nihao LatAm Group, and Royal Business bank will co-sponsor the upcoming forum.
