“What Li Yang has gone through in his pursuit of performing arts bears a resemblance to Bruce Lee’s experience. I wish he could become another Bruce Lee,” said Jack Huang, who used to learn martial arts from Lee, and now tutors Li Yang.

In a press conference today, Li Yang, a 25-year-old talented young man from China, shared his story with local media and community leaders.
Li Yang started to study Peking Opera when he was 7 years old, and began his performing career at the age of 12. However, fate seemed to work against this rising star. As a result of long time exhaustive practice, he suffered cerebral infarction, and half of his body paralyzed when he was 18.

Facing the cruel joke of his destiny, Li Yang struggled but never gave in or gave up. The rehab process was long and painful. He had to start literally from zero, learning how to speak, how to walk, and how to coordinate the body parts.
Nothing is impossible for a willing heart. Li Yang did not just stand up, but stand up even taller. In 2003, he was admitted to China Central Academy of Drama as an honor student, and returned to the performing stage he cherished so much.

Li Yang, recently graduated from New York Film Academy, starts his new journey, and dreams Hollywood dreams, and eyes success in filming career.
He has appeared in a couple of films and TV series. Persevere starring him, which features his personal story, has been screened in several film festivals, including Action on Film International Film Festival. Skoolbo, Kid’s education TV and Internet series in Australia, is now televised worldwide. Fate, in which he appeared as the actor director and stunt actor, received great review from Sunset Film Festival.

Li Yang also starred in and directed a short film Listen to the Bridge. And he is currently working on another TV series called Dark Empire.
