Los Angeles—Kayla Victoria Bohan, LA based rising Chinese American child movie star, was awarded “Best Child Actress” and “Inspiring Woman in a Film” thanks to her outstanding performance in her first film Kayla’s World at 2016 Festigious Film Festival which concluded on November 7.
Kayla’s World starring Kayla Victoria Bohan, to be released in 2017, tells a story of how a six-year-old faces her life after she lost her father. A little girl’s dream and hope is broken by the harsh reality. Kayla has to be a grown-up, takes care of her illness-stricken mother, learns to live in poverty, hardship and grief, and seeks balance between eastern and western cultures. Kayla’s father is an American criminal attorney, and her mother is an immigrant from China. The conflict of values is another feature of this film.
“This young lady immediately becomes the focus of attention with her incredible photogenic charm and outstanding performance. And the audience is attracted to her right away,” commented by the festival organizer. “Kayla’s World is a heart-broken story, but also a story about courage, hope and love which are the essential pillars of our lives. For a child, nothing is more miserable than losing her father at early age. And she hungers for nothing but fatherly love. This film vividly describes the delicate balance between life and death, cultural shock and acceptance, giving and gaining. It is very motivational.”
Kayla Victoria Bohan, born in 2010 in Los Angeles, is nicknamed “Little Shirley Temple” due to her appearance and performing talent similarities with Shirley Temple. Besides acting and singing, she also models at various fashion shows including New York Fashion Week.
