Los Angeles-The Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Los Angles hosted a reception today in celebration of the 67th anniversary of the founding of new China. More than 500 guests attended the gala, including elected officials and local Chinese community leaders.
“Over the last 67 years, China has overcome numerous obstacles, and achieved great success under the leadership of the Communist Party. All Chinese, including overseas Chinese, are proud of the significant transformations in China,” said Ambassador Liu Jian, Consul General of China in Los Angeles.
Ambassador Liu outlined the current diplomatic relations between China and the United States, and expressed his appreciation to all American friends and Chinese community for their efforts in promoting cooperation and exchanges between the two countries and two peoples.
Among the attendees are State Treasurer John Chiang, who is running for the governor of California, State Assemblyman Ed Chau, Los Angeles Supervisor Mike Antonovich, San Gabriel Mayor Chin Ho Liao, Yorba Linda City Councilmember Craig Young, Walnut Mayor Pro Tem Mary Su, Lily Li, Vice Board Chair of Mebo International Group, and Simon Pang, Executive Vice President of Royal Business Bank.
