LOS ANGELES—Today, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) welcomed Fabio as a U.S. citizen during a naturalization ceremony at the Los Angeles Convention Center. “This is one of the happiest days of my life,” says Fabio. “Over the course of my career I’ve had the opportunity to travel the globe and America is still the greatest country on earth. There is no such thing as an Italian dream or an English dream but the American dream is alive and well. Each day people look to come to this country to seek a better life for themselves and their family. That was my dream and my thanks to the USCIS for helping turn that  dream into a reality. I am proud to be an American.”

“People come to America with the hope and ambition to achieve, shape and live their own American dream,” Los Angeles District Director Susan Curda said. “At USCIS, we are proud to be a part of their journey to obtain U.S. citizenship and hope they continue to thrive and contribute to this great country.”

Naturalization is the way that a person not born in the United States voluntarily becomes a U.S. citizen.

Now that Fabio is a U.S. citizen he will have the same rights and responsibilities as every other American, such as the right to vote, serve on a jury, travel with an American passport or become an elected official.
