Last September the Chinese President Xi Jinping and his US counterpart Barack Obama jointly announced that 2016 would be the Year of Sino-US Tourism. A Chinese New Year’s reception hosted by the Chinese Consul General Los Angeles on February 12th marked the start of the Sino-US Tourism year.
Mr. Liu Jian , the Chinese Consul General, highly praised the “Happy New Year” series of performances sponsored by the Ministry of Culture in Beijing. Chinese performing troops presented wonderful shows with exquisite skills which have attracted great interest among local Chinese communities and American mainstream audience as well.
In his speech, Los Angeles City Mayor Eric Garcetti also spoke highly of Chinese tourists who have kept visiting this city in record numbers for the past six years. Los Angeles attracts tourists with its rich, diverse cuisine, and its world famous theme parks. Mayor Garcetti expressed his confidence that such advantages would further promote the growth of the “Sino-US tourism ” .
The Consulate staff served their guests a variety of Chinese delicacies, including traditional dumplings
