Marine Veteran, Business Executive, and Local Elected Official David E. Argudo Calls on Voters to Bring Accountability and Results to Los Angeles County
Vote Early or on Election Day, June 2
LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CA — David E. Argudo, a United States Marine Corps veteran, local elected official, business executive, and lifelong Los Angeles County resident, is calling on voters across Los Angeles County Supervisorial District 1 to participate in the June 2 election and support a new generation of leadership focused on accountability, transparency, and measurable results.

Argudo’s story is rooted in the values of hard work and service. Raised in Los Angeles County, he learned those lessons early while helping his father in a wrought iron shop, where long days of welding, forging steel, and building custom products taught him the importance of discipline, perseverance, and responsibility.
“I don’t come from a political machine,” said Argudo. “I come from a working-class family that taught me the value of hard work, respect, and earning trust through results. Those are the values I will bring to County government.”

A lifelong resident of Los Angeles County, Argudo attended local public schools and college and has spent more than five decades living, working, and raising a family in the communities he seeks to represent. He earned degrees in Behavioral Science and Business and went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps, work at City of Hope, manage operations within a Fortune 500 company, and lead an internationally publicly traded company as Chief Executive Officer.
His public service record includes serving as Mayor, Vice Mayor, and Councilmember for the City of La Puente, as well as serving on the Board of Directors for the La Puente Valley Water District, where he helps oversee the delivery of safe, reliable water to local communities.
Argudo says his combination of military service, executive leadership, and elected experience gives him a unique understanding of how to solve complex challenges and manage large organizations responsibly.

“Los Angeles County faces serious challenges that require leadership with real-world experience,” Argudo said. “We need leaders who have managed budgets, built organizations, solved problems, and delivered results—not more bureaucracy, excuses, or politics as usual.”
Argudo’s campaign is focused on restoring public trust and addressing the issues residents care about most:
• Improving public safety and addressing chronic staffing shortages in County departments.
• Reforming homelessness programs by increasing accountability, reducing bureaucracy, and empowering local cities and community partners.
• Expanding access to effective mental health services and treatment programs.
• Advancing environmental justice, protecting public health, and creating more green spaces for families and children.
• Strengthening disaster preparedness and community resilience through emergency planning, public education, and neighborhood-level preparedness programs.
• Promoting transparency, fiscal responsibility, and measurable outcomes for taxpayer-funded programs.
Argudo has also advocated for stronger collaboration between Los Angeles County and its 88 cities, arguing that local governments often understand their communities better than one-size-fits-all mandates imposed from above.
“County government should be a partner to our cities, not a barrier,” Argudo said. “The best solutions come from collaboration, not top-down mandates.”
As voters prepare to cast their ballots, Argudo is encouraging residents to make their voices heard.
“The future of Los Angeles County will be decided by those who vote,” Argudo said. “If you want safer communities, accountable government, stronger neighborhoods, and leadership focused on results, I respectfully ask for your vote. Whether you vote early or on June 2, please participate in this election and help shape the future of our County.”
