As part of the top tier of the WTT Series, Grand Smash events represent the pinnacle of professional table tennis — where the sport’s biggest stars, highest stakes, and most coveted titles collide. And in 2026, that collision lands in the middle of a Southern California summer.

With its beaches, palm-lined boulevards, entertainment landmarks, food culture, and sporting pedigree, the Los Angeles region provides the backdrop for what promises to be one of the defining stops of the WTT season. From Hollywood and Santa Monica to Anaheim, Pasadena, and the wider Southern California coastline, fans travelling for US Smash 2026 will step into a city and region already building toward Olympic fever.

The event also arrives during a blockbuster stretch in the WTT Series calendar, with the world’s best athletes chasing momentum through the Pan American summer before the season intensifies in Asia and Europe toward Europe Smash – Sweden 2026 and China Smash 2026 later in the year.

With the Men’s and Women’s Singles entries now officially unveiled, the scale of the showdown is becoming clear. The sport’s biggest stars are already setting their sights on Southern California for what is shaping up to be one of the most stacked events of the season.

Leading the Men’s Singles field are World No.1 Wang Chuqin, Truls Moregard, Tomokazu Harimoto, Felix Lebrun, Lin Shidong, Hugo Calderano, and Lin Yun-Ju— a heavyweight lineup featuring World champions, Olympic medallists, Grand Smash winners, and some of the sport’s fiercest rivalries.

The Women’s Singles field is equally loaded, headlined by World No.1 Sun Yingsha, Wang Manyu, Miwa Harimoto, Chen Xingtong, Zhu Yuling, Sabine Winter, and Hina Hayata. From established icons to the new generation of challengers, the race for the Women’s Singles title promises to be relentless.

Fans across the Americas will also have plenty of homegrown stars to rally behind, with Lily Zhang, Kanak Jha, Adriana Diaz, Bruna Takahashi, and Amy Wangall set to bring total local firepower into the Grand Smash spotlight.

All eyes will once again turn to the Singles champions from the historic first edition in Las Vegas. Women’s Singles champion Zhu Yuling returns after completing one of the sport’s great comeback stories in 2025, while Men’s Singles champion and current World No.1 Wang Chuqin returns looking to defend his crown on American soil.

“US Smash was one of the most memorable experiences of my career,” Zhu said. “The energy inside the arena, the fans, the atmosphere around the event — everything felt big. Playing a Grand Smash in the United States brings a different feeling, and I’m excited to experience that again in Southern California.”

Wang Chuqin, who delivered a commanding performance to lift the Men’s Singles trophy in 2025, believes the event’s move into the Los Angeles region reflects the sport’s growing momentum in the market.

“The Grand Smash is the highest-level event for WTT, and its competitive intensity is self-evident,” Wang said. “Playing US Smash in Southern California, with the Olympic Games coming to Los Angeles soon, makes this event even more exciting. For me, this event is not only a stage to compete for honours, but also an opportunity to test my own capabilities.”

The Doubles events are also set to return as a major part of the US Smash spectacle, with Wang Yidi and Kuai Man currently holding the Women’s Doubles title,An Jaehyun and Lim Jonghoon standing as the reigning Men’s Doubles champions, and Lin Shidong and Kuai Man the defending Mixed Doubles title holders following their dominant 2025 run. Further details on the Doubles entries and lineup will be revealed in the coming weeks.
