California Program Could Be Holding Free College Funds for Your Child

Sacramento- A free community event aimed at helping Sacramento-area families access and enroll in California’s CalKIDS education savings program will take place on Monday, May 11, 2026.

The “Future Ready! CalKIDS Enrollment and Resource Fair” will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Serna Center(5601 47th Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95824).

The event is designed to help families check eligibility and claim CalKIDS scholarship funds, which can provide up to $1,500 in free education savings for eligible students. On-site staff will offer enrollment assistance, eligibility checks, and guidance for accessing accounts.

Organizers say the fair will also feature a wide range of community resources, including job support services, health and wellness programs, youth and family services, and immigrant and refugee support organizations.

To ensure accessibility, enrollment assistance will be available in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, Dari, Farsi, Hindi, Hmong, Pashto, Punjabi, Russian, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.

Families are encouraged to attend to learn whether they have unclaimed CalKIDS funds and to connect with additional community support services.
