OCPA Invites Young Artists to “Picture a Better Tomorrow” in New Art Contest
ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. — The Orange County Power Authority (OCPA) is inviting young artists to imagine a cleaner, greener future through its new student art contest, “Picturing a Better Tomorrow.” The contest is open to students in grades TK through 6 and encourages creativity around environmental care and renewable energy.
Through art, students are asked to reflect on an important question: What do you want the future of our planet to look like? The theme invites participants to explore ideas about sustainability, clean energy, and protecting the environment for generations to come.
Who Can Participate
The contest is open to students in grades TK–6 who live in or attend a school or after-school program in the cities of Buena Park, Fountain Valley, Fullerton, or Irvine.
Prizes
One winner will be selected from each of four age groups:

Grades 1–2

Grades 3–4

Grades 5–6
Each winner will receive four single-day admission tickets to Knott’s Berry Farm. Winning artwork may also be displayed at the OCPA office.
Artwork Guidelines

Any medium is accepted, including paint, crayons, markers, or digital art

Artwork must not exceed 18” x 24”

Submissions must be entirely original; traced, copyrighted, or AI-generated artwork is not eligible
Each submission must include a completed entry form, a short artist description, and signed parental consent and media release.
How to Submit
Original artwork is preferred for in-person judging. Submissions may be made in one of two ways:

Mailed entries must be postmarked by the deadline. -

All entries must be received by Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 5 p.m.
