Part of NHM’s Partners in Commons series, the marketplace brings local artisans, vendors, and small businesses to NHM Commons
LOS ANGELES — The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County (NHM) will launch its first Cultural Treasures Market this Saturday, December 6, in partnership with arts nonprofit LA Commons. The free public event will run from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at NHM Commons in Exposition Park.
The market — part of NHM’s Partners in Commons series — highlights the cultural traditions, creativity, and resilience of artisans, vendors, and small businesses from South Los Angeles and Altadena. It also serves as the final Partners in Commons event of 2025 and marks the culmination of LA Commons’ year-long 25th anniversary celebration.
Visitors will be able to browse unique holiday gifts from local makers, enjoy live music on the community plaza, taste offerings from neighborhood food vendors, and participate in an all-ages art activity. Featured vendors include Sika’s/Queen Midas Gold, Mother Sun Records, How Bazaar, Zakruu, Nappily Naturals, Hya, Queen Aminah’s, The Plant Chica, Soul Food Candle Co., La Libreria, and Reparations Club. Food will be provided by South LA Cafe, All Chill Ice Cream, Crenshaw Juice Co., El Rincon Hondureno, Dulanville, and Fuegos LA.
The Cultural Treasures Market is open to the public and free to attend. General admission tickets are required for entry to the Museum’s main galleries and exhibitions. Limited paid parking will be available in the NHM Car Park on Bill Robertson Lane.
