CDCSC Shines at NBA Preseason: LA Clippers to Face Guangzhou Loong-Lions
Los Angeles, CA — On the evening of October 9, the NBA preseason will light up Frontwave Arena as the Los Angeles Clippers (LA Clippers) take on the Guangzhou Loong-Lions from the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), bringing fans an international basketball spectacle. This matchup marks not only a face-off between Chinese and NBA teams but also a unique opportunity for cross-cultural sports exchange.
As the special guest performers, the Chinese Dance Company of Southern California (CDCSC) will appear during the pre-game and halftime shows, presenting a series of vibrant and dynamic dance performances. With strong technical skill and distinctive artistic expression, the troupe brings traditional Chinese culture to life, telling classic stories through movement while highlighting the cultural confidence and vitality of the Chinese-American community.
The centerpiece of the evening will be “Yingge”, a traditional dance originating from Guangdong province and recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage in China. Characterized by powerful movements and rhythmic drumming, Yingge symbolizes strength, courage, and unity. CDCSC will perform this signature piece to honor the visiting Guangzhou Loong-Lions and cheer them on with enthusiasm.
In addition to Yingge, CDCSC will present a series of dance works blending classical and contemporary styles, allowing audiences to enjoy basketball excitement alongside the richness and creativity of Chinese culture.
