Port of Los Angeles Hosts Annual Free Harbor Boat Tours, Saturday, Sept. 13

Public Tours Depart from Two Port Locations in San Pedro and Wilmington

LOS ANGELES – Aug. 28, 2025 – The Port of Los Angeles is offering the public free harbor boat tours of America’s busiest port from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 13, from two locations in San Pedro and Wilmington.

Tours will depart every 30 minutes from San Pedro’s Downtown Harbor (near Los Angeles Maritime Museum), at 6th Street and Harbor Boulevard, and Wilmington Waterfront Promenade (near Banning’s Landing Community Center), 100 E. Water Street in Wilmington.

Additionally, four boat tours are designated as “dog-friendly” to accommodate well-socialized and behaved, leashed dogs. Dog-friendly tours depart at 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. from Wilmington, and 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. from San Pedro.

Online reservations are available, but not required. Standby tours are also available on a first-come, first served basis, with the tour line closing at 1 p.m. Wheelchair-accessible boarding is available, along with designated parking offered at both locations. All ages are welcome.

Visitors will experience 50-minute narrated tours along the Port’s Main and Pier 300 Channels (San Pedro) and East and West Basins (Wilmington). Tours narrated in both English and Spanish will depart from each location at 1 p.m.

Tours include up-close views of the nation’s busiest port, with sights of active vessels, cargo terminals, cranes and notable San Pedro Bay landmarks, including the Vincent Thomas Bridge and Wilmington Clock Tower. Active marine wildlife, cruise ships, tugs, barges, and fireboats may also be seen on the tour.

Visitors may take tours from both locations, offering a full perspective of Los Angeles Harbor. Those interested may preview scenes from the Port of Los Angeles, courtesy of its two livestream cameras.

While in the area, visitors are encouraged to explore LA Waterfront attractions that are free to the public. Harbor boat tours depart from San Pedro year-round and are available for purchase from Harbor Breeze Cruises.
