The Visit Celebrated the Anniversary of the Arrival of the Zoo’s Two Giant Pandas, Yun Chuan and Xin Bao
SAN DIEGO (Aug. 8, 2025) – This morning, local families from Ronald McDonald House visited the San Diego Zoo to celebrate the anniversary of California Panda Day, a day commemorating the arrival of pandas, Yun Chuan and Xin Bao, to the San Diego Zoo last year. The families from Ronald McDonald House received a tour of Panda Ridge to see the pandas in person, as well as special 2025 California Panda Day pins.
After the tour of Panda Ridge, the Ronald McDonald House families met Bamboo, the panda costumed character, snapped pictures and explored the zoo, all in celebration of California Panda Day.
The first 2,025 guests of Panda Ridge took home a special commemorative California Panda Day pin and guests throughout the day enjoyed a celebratory photo opp frame, pictures with Bamboo the costumed panda character, and more.
