Kg Genting, Chenderiang – 26 July 2025 — After successfully raising RM100,000, 16-year-old Louie Liu has led the completion of the Better Health, Better Lives outreach mission, bringing urgently needed healthcare and essential supplies to the Orang Asli community in Kg Genting, Chenderiang.
In collaboration with the Lions Club of Serdang, supporting Lions chapters, and local health agencies, the outreach was executed in coordinated phases. While medical teams conducted health screenings, blood tests, and wellness education at the village centre, a 4WD convoy transported Louie Liu and key partners into the deeper parts of the village — allowing them to witness the living conditions and personally engage with families.
A total of 400 Orang Asli participated in the outreach, including 140 children, who received tailored support such as deworming treatment and nutritional aid. One key highlight of the mission was Louie Liu personally distributing deworming medicine to the children, demonstrating his hands-on commitment and personal connection to the cause he helped fund.
Additional support items distributed included school bags, uniforms, vitamins, first-aid kits, and food relief packs, ensuring that both health and daily livelihood needs were addressed holistically.
The outreach was further strengthened by the efforts of Alan Soo, who spearheaded the participation of over 30 Lions Club members for the mission. Their support across logistics, health coordination, and community engagement played a vital role in the programme’s success.
The day concluded with an appreciation ceremony, shared meals, and renewed bonds between volunteers and villagers. More than just an event, the outreach marked the beginning of a deeper relationship with the community — one built on trust, care, and continued commitment.
