Rep. Dave Min On South Korea Election Results
Washington, D.C. — Following South Korea’s election results projecting Lee Jae-myung winning the presidency, Representative Dave Min (CA-47) released the following statement:
“I want to congratulate President-elect Lee Jae-myung on his victory, and I look forward to working with his administration to further strengthen the longstanding relationship between the United States and the Republic of Korea.
As a Korean-American, I was so glad to see the Republic of Korea emerge through its recent constitutional crisis. At a time when authoritarianism is on the rise around the world, it is more important than ever to celebrate democracy in action. South Korea’s electorate made their voice clear through free and fair elections: they will not tolerate attacks on democracy or the rule of law.”
