Congressman Min shared his families immigration journey, “A lot of us grew up being the minority. We know from personal experience what it feels like to be other. Because of that, many of us have empathy for the vulnerable and marginalized communities that we want to stand up for the little guy.” Min said, “I also think as new Americans, we are very closely tied to the values of this country: democracy and freedom, economic opportunity and the idea that anybody here is supposed to be able to make it with hard work.” “We are the American dream.”

The forum also touched upon critical issues such as the impact of rising anti-China sentiment and its effects on the broader AAPI community. Min acknowledged the challenges posed by increasing societal divisions, particularly concerning Chinese Americans, but reaffirmed his commitment to representing the AAPI community in Congress. “..So I really just want to emphasize that I’m here to learn from you, to hear from you. I want to be the best representative I can be for the Asian American business community.”
