Update: Severe Weather and Power Restoration

SCE:
As of 5 p.m. today, 70,250 customers are still without power due to storm, fire damage and/or a PSPS event. We have 3,500 SCE crew members, contractors and mutual assistance personnel continuing to work around the clock to restore power. SCE is working with fire, emergency operations and public safety personnel as crews inspect areas and remove safety hazards.

COMMUNITY RESOURCES

A number of organizations are providing resources to impacted communities. A few are noted below, along with the services they provide:

  • The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank is working with government agencies, nonprofit and faith-based partners and others to respond to the fires throughout Los Angeles County. It is accepting food donations between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at its two distribution centers: 1734 East 41st Street, Los Angeles, 90058, and 2300 Pellissier Place, Industry, 90601.
  • The Pasadena Community Foundation has opened the Eaton Canyon Fire Relief and Recovery Fund, providing an opportunity to support immediate and pressing needs even as the fire continues to spread.
  • Los Angeles area YMCA’s Centers for Community Well-Being are serving as a community resource and emergency relief site. Several locations are accepting essential items donations for victims.
  • World Central Kitchen is working with restaurant and food truck partners to provide meals to feed first responders.
  • Financial donations enable the American Red Cross to prepare for, respond to and help people recover from disasters big and small.
  • The Salvation Army is providing critical aid, like shelter, food, and support, across Southern California through their Emergency Disaster Fund.

Prepare Your Home:

  • Keep a supply of essentials, including water, non-perishable food, medications, and flashlights with extra batteries.
  • Ensure your mobile devices are fully charged and consider having a backup power source.

Stay Safe:

  • Avoid downed power lines and report them immediately to SCE or local authorities.
  • Use surge protectors to safeguard your electronics.
  • If you rely on electrically-powered medical equipment, have a backup power plan in place.
