Temple City Councilman Ed Chen Appointed to Metro San Gabriel Valley Service Council

Temple City, CA – On September 26, during Metro’s regular board meeting, Councilman Ed Chen was appointed to the Metro San Gabriel Valley Service Council. Councilman Chen will be the first representative from Temple City since the formation of the service council.

Councilman Chen was elected unanimously by the cluster of cities which include Arcadia, El Monte, and Temple City. His election reflects the confidence and trust placed in him by his council colleagues, as well as his dedication to addressing transportation and infrastructure challenges that impact our region.

“I am honored to serve in this capacity and to represent the interests of Temple City and the San Gabriel Valley,” said Councilman Chen. “Transportation is vital to our community’s growth, and I am committed to working collaboratively with regional partners to enhance our transit systems and improve mobility for all residents.”

“As a police officer, Councilman Chen provides an important public safety perspective on transportation issues,” said Temple City Mayor Tom Chavez. “Ed will ensure that the voices of Temple City residents are heard in regional planning discussions.”

About the Metro San Gabriel Valley Council

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) San Gabriel Valley Council was formed in 2002, and is comprised of five elected officials and four non-elected officials nominated by LA County Supervisors Hilda Solis (1st District) and Kathryn Barger (5th District), the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments (COG), and city clusters in the San Gabriel Valley, and appointed by Metro’s Board of Directors.
