YU CAKE NOW OPEN AT SOUTH COAST PLAZA

Costa Mesa, Calif. (July 11, 2024)   Yu Cake, an Orange County exclusive at South Coast Plaza, officially debuted July 4. The confectionery is known for fanciful desserts such as mille crepe cakes, delicate cheesecakes, box cakes and cookies as well as iced fresh fruit and milk teas, and a variety of coffee drinks. It is located on level 1 of the Saks Fifth Avenue wing.

Offerings unique to South Coast Plaza include a hot coffee series, individual French mousses (photo), cube cheesecakes and soon to come, Japanese-style sandwiches (sandos) made from Yu Cake’s milk bread loaf. The petit salon is handsomely appointed with Tom Dixon wingback chairs and gold web pendant lighting.

Yu Cake is owned by Bruce and Yu Guan. It began in 2019 in the San Gabriel Valley and currently has four locations throughout Southern California. Yu, a self-taught and accomplished pastry chef, creates and oversees the offerings. She is inspired by global trends and committed to using the finest ingredients—high-quality Casarine baking flour from Japan, European chocolate and organic products. Yu Cake is also known for its upscale, luxury packaging. It is open center-hours.
