Kevin Xu Appointed a Member of Los Angeles County Mental Health Commission

Los Angeles—Kevin Peng Xu, a well-known entrepreneur and philanthropist, was appointed today by Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors to serve as a member of the Los Angeles County Mental Health Commission.

The mission of the Mental Health Commission is to advise the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and Department of Mental Health Director on issues impacting the County mental health system, and to review and approve the procedures used to ensure community and professional involvement at all stages of the planning process.

The Commission consists of 16 members, who are appointed by the Board of Supervisors for three-year terms. Those terms may be extended.

Xu, a graduate of University of Southern California, is the Chairman and CEO of MEBO International, a California and Beijing based company focused on regenerative medicine.  He also serves on the board of Bay Area Council, and co-chairs its China program.

As a civic leader, Xu is a member of the Clinton Global Initiative, the Clinton Foundation, the Forbes Non-Profit Council, the Fortune CEO Initiative, and founder of Kevin Xu Initiative at University of Oxford and University of Chicago.
