William Briggs Elected Los Angeles Police Commission President, Eileen Decker Elected Vice President

Los Angeles – On July 27, 2021, the members of the Los Angeles Police Commission held elections and unanimously elected William J. Briggs II, to serve as the new President, and Eileen Decker to the Vice President post. The five members of the Police Commission are Eileen M. Decker, William J. Briggs II, Dale Bonner, Maria “Lou” Calanche and Steve Soboroff.

Upon being elected to the President post, Commissioner Briggs stated, “I am honored to serve my City in leading the Police Commission as President and working with my colleagues to continue building upon the successes lead by my predecessor, Commissioner Eileen Decker. The City faces many complex challenges and I am eager to work towards the expansion, development, and reinforcement of our public safety efforts.”

“I am committed to continuing to build partnerships with diverse communities we serve to improve the safety of our neighborhoods,” said Vice President Decker. “It is important we continue focusing on building trust. I look forward to working with Commissioner Briggs towards a shared vision for public safety in Los Angeles.”
