Los Angeles Unified School Board Condemns Hatred and Violence Directed at AAPI Communities

Statement from the Los Angeles Unified School Board

We condemn the hatred and violence directed at our Asian American and Pacific Islander communities in the strongest terms. The racist attacks we have witnessed in California and beyond in recent weeks are horrifying and must be called out. We stand in solidarity with our AAPI students, families, and employees.

Los Angeles Unified is proud of our diversity; we know it makes us richer and stronger. An attack on our AAPI communities is an attack on all of us who are working to combat racism and white supremacy and to uplift equity and opportunity for all students. All of us must stand together and work to address both individual acts of racism and systemic oppression in order for this type of vitriol to end. We as a Board are committed to doing our part.
