Moth Virtual StorySLAM: After-hours—Alex Prager: Farewell, Work Holiday Parties

Join us for an evening of art and storytelling in this StorySLAM co-produced with The Moth, the acclaimed storytelling non-profit. The theme for the night is “After-hours,” inspired by Los Angeles-based artist Alex Prager’s installation Farewell, Work Holiday Parties on view at LACMA. Sign up as a storyteller for a chance to tell your tale on the virtual stage. Or purchase tickets to sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!
Moth StorySLAM is an open-mic storytelling experience that invites eight tellers to share a true, personal story on a given theme. The SLAM ends with the audience voting for their favorite story, crowning the StorySLAM winner!
Special guest artist Alex Prager will share the inspirations behind the artwork.
Story Prompt—After-hours:
Prepare a five-minute story about who you are when the sun sets. It’s 5 o’clock somewhere—the workday is over, the kids are in bed, but the night is still young. Overtime, the nightshift, or already asleep. The office holiday party or your monthly game night. Are you winding down or just getting started? Whatever has you up, it’s last call.
Different ways to attend the show:
Admission: A ticket for your household to watch the show!
Admission + Storyteller: A ticket for your household that includes a storytelling hopeful. Purchase a ticket using the storyteller’s information to have their name put in the hat! The host will draw eight names to be the night’s tellers.
* If you’re registering as a storyteller, please come prepared to be featured on camera, including adequate lighting and minimal background noise. If selected to tell a story, please stand if you’re able to do so. Visit The Moth website for storytelling tips and tricks.

You will be able to enter the Zoom meeting at 7:15 pm. The Zoom link will be sent to your email on the day of the program.
Full refunds will only be granted if the program is canceled. A 50% refund will be honored for cancellations made three weeks before the program. No refunds for cancellations made less than three weeks prior to the program. Please contact educate@lacma.org if you have any questions.
