In a statement, Supervisor Spitzer said:
“As a County Supervisor, Assistant District Attorney, and 10-year level 1 reserve Police Officer, I have seen the disastrous effects of AB 109 and Prop. 47 to our Orange County communities — many of which have seen a rise in crime.

That is why we need to send Phillip Chen to Sacramento to reverse the nonsense of these liberal policies that have jeopardized the safety of our communities.

As a former Sheriff Reserve Deputy, count on Phillip Chen to work hard to protect our families, homes, and neighborhoods.”
Chen has already received the endorsements of Governor Pete Wilson; Board of Equalization Member Diane Harkey; State Senators Janet Nguyen and Bob Huff; Assemblymembers Travis Allen and Young Kim; Orange County Sheriff Sandra Hutchens; Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas; Orange County Supervisors Shawn Nelson, Andrew Do and Michelle Steel; and the Orange County Register.
The 55th Assembly District is split between Orange, San Bernardino and Los Angeles Counties.
